Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how non-profit (NPO) and for-profit (FPO) training organisations manage the development and delivery of training courses based on the use of strategic capabilities: internal direct strategic capabilities, internal indirect strategic capabilities and external factors. The type of organisation is of influence on how the strategic capabilities are managed and used during the development and delivery of training courses. Evaluating the courses is also part of this process. Using four case studies, this thesis provides insight why NPOs and FPOs develop, deliver and more over evaluate training courses differently. The outcome of this thesis can be used to internally change the way NPOs and FPOs develop, deliver and evaluate training courses. The research is of qualitative nature, data from four Dutch organisations are used and literature about training courses is about general services. Further research is needed to answer the “How” question rather than the “Why” question. De inhoud van deze scriptie is vertrouwelijk.
