Introduction: Many men and women, up till 17%, have complaints of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) with or without urinary incontinence (UI). They have complaints of urgency, frequency and nocturia without a pathological or metabolic reason. Patients experience less quality of life (QoL) and treatment takes long. This makes it also an expensive problem. Patients are treated following the guide for UI of the Association of Urology. The meaning of this study is to look if the guideline is followed and how the treatment looks like in practice in the Isala hospital. Also we want to determine if there are variables by which we can estimate the during of the treatment before starting. Materials en Methods: It is a retrospective, file study. We take patient characteristics from the files and which treatment they have gotten. Patients started between 01-01-2014 and 01-09-2016 will be included. Analysis will be partly descriptive statistics. We will compare the groups guideline followed/not followed. Also we will determine if this groups or other variables are predictors for the time of treatment, we will do this univariable and also multivariable. Results: 119 of 296 patients were included. In 44% of the cases the guideline was followed. All treatments are offered in practice. There were no predictors found. Conclusion: In practice the treatment of OAB follows in great lines the guideline. There might be a small margin on the treatment time. There were no predictors found for the treatment time.
